Ort Honey and Card

It is traditional to eat apples and honey on Rosh Hashanah. The apples symbolize the constant cycle of life and the honey symbolizes the sweetness that we hope will characterize the year to come.

The following blessing, printed on a beautiful keepsake card, is enclosed with each jar of honey you send:

The apple is dipped in honey, the blessing for eating tree fruits is recited, the apple is tasted, and then the apples and honey prayer is recited.

Barukh atah Adonai, Elohaynu, melekh ha-olam
Blessed are you, Lord our God, king of the universe

borei p’riy ha-eitz. (Amen)
who creates the fruit of the tree. (Amen)

Take a bite from the apple dipped in honey, then continue with the following:

y’hi ratzon mil’fanekha Adonai eloheinu vei’lohei avoteinu
May it be Your will, Lord our God and God of our forefathers

sh’t’chadeish aleinu shanah tovah um’tukah.
that you renew for us a good and sweet year.

Become a Honey From The Heart Distributor

honeydistYou Sell, We Ship, We All Benefit

Honey From The Heart offers TWO unique ways for Jewish non-profit organizations to fundraise with Rosh Hashanah honey. You can run either campaign or both.

ONE-TO-ONE – Members send Honey to Family, Friends and Business Associates:
Invite your members to order Rosh Hashanah honey for anyone to be shipped anywhere in the world. Honey From The Heart sends the honey to arrive in time for Rosh Hashanah accompanied by a personal greeting from the sender. As a distributor, all you have to do is promote the sale to your membership. ORT Atlanta’s Honey From The Heart handles all aspects of order fulfillment.

MANY-TO-ONE – Members send Sponsored Honey to Other Members:
In partnership with Purim Project (aka Shana Tova Project), synagogues and religious schools can run a unique community-building Shana Tova fundraiser. Similar to Mishloach Manot fundraisers where members contribute towards Purim baskets that are sent to each member, when you sign up with Purim Project for a Shana Tova campaign, Honey From The Heart will send a jar of honey to each member to arrive for Rosh Hashanah and you will be able to invite your members to sponsor the jars while exchanging their Shana Tova greetings.

It’s a sweet deal – both ORT and your organization raise money while celebrating Rosh Hashanah with Kosher honey.

Becoming a Honey From The Heart distributor is easy. Complete our online information request and we will email you details on participating and how much money you can raise. To learn more about running a Shana Tova campaign, contact Purim Project/Shana Tova Project or support@purimproject.com.
